Yoga practices crossed my path in various ways, though the very first time I experienced the power of this ancient practice was back in '96, using the physical postures to heal a lower lumbar injury. After just three months of daily practice, not only was my spine healed and all my joints fortified, a seed was planted. During the next several years, I engaged with physical and subtle practices to aid in strengthening my nervous system and opening my higher centers.
I became a certified teacher through Dhyana Yoga in Philadelphia in 2005, not because I wanted to be a yoga teacher...that wasn't my aim at the time, I just wanted to learn more so I could deepen my own practice. But alas, I soon after picked up the call to share the valuable information I had cultivated from training and from the years of experience prior.
Ever since, I've been these teaching tools and techniques to help break through layers of resistance to true authenticity, while feeling more healthy, more relaxed, and at home in the body. In my classes, whether in a private or group setting, I create a safe and comfortable healing space to help invoke a deep sense of well-being, gently encouraging the beginner student, challenging the seasoned practitioner, and inspiring a loving and deep spiritual connection within oneself.
Over the past 15 years, I've taught domestically and abroad, at festivals including Burning Man, PEX Summer Fest, and Montezuma Gathering, retreats in Costa Rica, Nicaragua, and Mexico, at Lululemon events, Philadelphia Museum of Art, at public & private events and with clients and studios throughout PA, NJ, OK, and CO. I had the unique opportunity to teach in the Peruvian amazon for several months where I was a shamanic apprentice working with the plant medicine, Ayahuasca. There, I gratefully served as a yoga and fire-arts teacher, and an avid student of nature. One of my previous projects was co-creating Hoop Vinyasa, a yoga and hula-hoop fusion, which was featured in Yoga Journal, Shape Magazine, and the New York Times.
Some of the inspiring teachers I've studied with who've influenced my life & teaching are: Dhyana D'Amato, Marni Sclaroff, Lilavati Devi, Dharma Mittra, Andrei Ram Om, Simon Park, Ragunath, Kofi Busia, Nevine Michaan, Justicia DeClue, Angela Boltz and Jeannie Manchester.
***If you're in the Boulder/Denver area and interested in private sessions, we will discuss your goals, lifestyle and intentions so I can design the most effective game plan to assist you on your journey with yoga and your life. We'll incorporate ayurvedic principles to your practice for optimal balance, which means your sessions may be more restorative/relaxing or more vigorous/dynamic depending on what is necessary at this time. For optimal stress management, we will include several Access Bars sessions.

TESTIMONIALS
"Liana is one of the most perceptive and spiritually rich teachers I've encountered in almost 10 years of practice. Liana goes beyond any template to deliver a unique, thoughtful and complete experience to her students. Each class Liana leads is a unique creation based on what her students may find most useful and what may leave them feeling the most balanced and blissful. Liana has a powerful way of combining words and asanas to release what does not serve and to aid in the manifestation of what the mind, body and soul in union know is needed. Practicing with Liana is always a beautiful, introspective and joyful experience and has consistently left me in tune with my greatest, most authentic self when I leave the studio and re-enter the world. Thank you, Liana!!!"
~ Sara Hirschler, Fairmount Park Conservancy
"I don't really think of Liana as a yoga teacher or a healer. I think of her as an exceptional human being, a rare breed of special, with abundant gifts that MUST be shared. Her healing work is simply an extention of her heart. Walking into her classroom is a gift."
~ Angela Boltz, WSW
"Taking a yoga class with Liana is like taking the red pill in "The Matrix." She opens you up to your mind, body, and soul and shows you everything you need to see, hear, and feel. You can walk into a class with Liana carrying the weight of the world on your shoulders and come out of shavasana renewed, rejuvenated, and inspired."
